Let’s get started:
1. MAKE A LIST
Make a list of all the people you want to get presents for, including family, friends, teachers etc… Then set a dollar amount you are comfortable spending for the Holidays. Assign a budget and decide on a present for each person on your list. This way you will not spend too much and you will know where your money is going. You don’t want to start the new year with a surprisingly huge credit card bill.
2- PLAN YOUR BLACK FRIDAY DEALS
Make a plan before you hit the stores so you are less likely to make impulse purchases and you can research where it is best to buy what you want. Many times those impulse buys cause spending to spin out of control. Now that you know what you need, look for the best deals in the 2019 Black Friday ad brochures:
– Target
– BestBuy
– Costco
– Amazon
– Kohl’s
– KMART
– JC Penney
– Sears
– Walmart
– Macy’s
3- GET CASH BACK ON BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING
Get up to 40% Cash Back at over 2,500 stores with Rakuten. You just sign-up for free here and you’ll get a $10. Then search for the store you’ll be shopping at, macy’s for example. It’ll tell you the percentage of your purchase you will get back and you click theough the link to go to the sotre and make your purchase. Then Rakuten will pay you whatever amount you’re due (either by check or gift cards)
4- TAKE ADVANTAGE OF STORE CASH AND COUPONS
Many stores offers coupons, make sure you apply them before you checkout. Target for example is currently offering a 25% off coupon on a toy until 11/23. Look if the site you’re shopping at has a coupons and offers page to find special deals; Also look on their social media pages.
Many stores such as Khols, Gap and Children’s Place offer store cash when you make a purchase with them. For example, Kohls will be offering $15 Kohls cash for every $50 you spend. You can then spend that amount (usually at a later date) and take off your future purchase!
The holiday season tends to be a chaotic time of year, but it doesn’t have to be! If you take control, stay organized, and act smartly with your money, you are sure to have a great holiday!
